What I thought about the book was it was really slow then it got moving faster than back to slow. Sometimes I will start reading book then I get bored and stop reading it, when that happens I don’t go back to reading it. I never keep reading and give it a second chance and see if it will be a book that I really like. I did enjoy the book but some points I wanted to stop reading, but I knew I couldn’t do that, I wanted to give the book a second chance, so I kept on reading. There was one part of the book that I really liked in some way. It was when Kathy one of the main characters met one of the owners that bought her house. And then she steps on nails after yelling at the people who were re-doing her roof. Then she goes inside and that s when she meets the wife of the owner. There are some ups and downs after that. I don’t want to spoil anything but the downs lead up to almost death and death. To be honest I really didn’t expect death to be in this book, I thought some one would end up getting hurt not almost dying.

The book “House of Sand and Fog” by Andre Dubus the third, is a book about two people who had a more different meeting than you would think. Kathy lost her house because she didn’t have enough money to keep up with the bills. So she lost her house and was staying at a motel for awhile. She didn’t tell anyone about it for a really long time. Massoud the other main character, bought Kathy’s house. They didn’t meet for a while, until Kathy showed up one day. After some time things happened that wasn’t so good, it ended up with people almost dying and people dying.

To start I wish the book gave some sort of warning of what the chapters were going to be like. What I mean is when I got the book I thought it was going to like a normal book with a chapter 1 and a chapter 2 and so on. It isn’t like that at all, it has a two lines of …………… then a line of …… then a line of .. then it would change perspective, it would be the girls point of view then it would change to the guys during the same time period. For me I was kind of confused on how the writer got the idea of it and why they decided to use that way for the chapters. However it did not tell me why they chose that way of making the book that way.

I think this book is some what relevant. It teaches you to pay your house bills or you might get kicked out of your house and that isn’t good at all. It also teaches you to fight for what’s yours, it may take awhile and in this case someone might move in while you are trying to get your house back if you end up loosing it. I think you should keep this book on the list for next year because at first I didn’t understand or like this book because it was kind of slow moving and not much was going on. But as you keep on reading it starts moving fast. There was a point where I couldn’t put the book down, I got so into it. I really think that other people would like this a lot, I enjoyed it and so will other people who choose to read this book will enjoy it too.

Hey everyone! I didn’t really want to do this but my lawyer thought it would be good with coping with loosing my house and everything. So recently, well I guess it wasn’t so recent but my husband left me without any warning so that kind of made me depressed. I haven’t told anyone in my family about it. I also lost my house because I didn’t pay the bills, i’m fighting to get it back. I also haven’t told anyone about that either. A while ago I went to my house just to see it and the people living there decided to redo the roof so I got really mad about that. When I was leaving the house I stepped in four or five nails, that really really hurt, like a butt. But I did make a new friend I don’t know much about him though, but I like him as a friend.

When I was reading I got to this part in the book that stood out to me in way I can’t subscribe. But anyways what happened was in Kathy’s point of view she was in her car driving and she then decided to head back to her house. Which she was kicked out of because she hasn’t been paying the bills. So anyways when she got to her house it was late morning and she saw to men on her roof tearing it apart. She was so mad that she got out of her car barefoot and started yelling at the people on the roof saying how this is her house and they have no right to be working on the house tearing it apart and some other things. Then that’s when she was about to leave and she steps on some nails after one of the workmen said to watch out for nails. That was when she finally met the people who were living there and let me tell you she wasn’t a very happy camper. She got fixed up and was resting for a bit then she left and went to her lawyer and told her what had happened.

On page 71, Kathy was at her house yelling at the construction works. This was around late morning almost lunch time. This was in the summer of 1993 It was hot and sunny and one worked up lady. She yells up saying “What are you doing?” One of the construction workers said “Excuse me?” Kathy then continues to yell at them saying, ” Who said you can do this? This is my f**cking house.” Kathy continued to yell at the construction workers. Then she finally was about to leave.

On page 73, Kathy was leaving and then she stepped on three nails. ” … one of the carpenters yelled at watch out for nails just as I stepped on the upside-down plywood where dozens of nail points were sticking out and four or five of them were sinking into the heel and the ball of my foot. I screamed, jerking my knee up, the blood dripping. “sh*t”. I hopped and sat down, then twisted my foot up, but there was so much blood I couldn’t see where the holes were. F*ck.” Sorry for the bad language. When this was all happening you could most likely tell that this happened in front of Kathy’s used to be house.

What I think happened before i started reading this story was that the main character came from his homeland, which his homeland is a very bad place and that he and his family needed to get out of the place. So now he lives in an apartment with his wife and his daughter. They are poor and he is working on the sides of highways and picking up trash, he is trying to help and support his family the best he can, he also works at a store during the night to earn extra money. If I was in the story and I was the main character I would see hard working people trying to get money to support their family if they have any family. I would also see people from different places like from china and other places. Some facts about the book is that there isn’t really an chapters, it’s more of each chapter in a book would normally read it would be the point of view from both of the main characters. The first chapter was the mans point of view, it shows how much money he is in need of and what his normal day is typically like. In the second chapter it is the woman’s point of view so the struggle of her husband leaving her and not having enough money to pay bills for her house and being kicked out of her house that she had handed down to her by her dad. My opinions about the book is that I was kind of confused about what was going on in the first chapter, I wasn’t expecting to start off with the man. It also started off with the man in the middle of his day shift of the first job he has. I like this book not like I love this book but it’s getting to the I love this book feeling when you read a book.

My reading schedule is going to be 24 pages a day. I will get one day ish early.

When I heard the title of the book I chose I knew I wouldn’t like it, but when I looked at a description of the book I thought it sounded interesting and it would be a book that I would enjoy quite a bit. Also I got really excited about when Mrs. Tinkham said that we were blogging instead of writing a paper about our book. I really don’t like writing papers they make me so stressed and I never get done in time or I barley turn them in on time.
